A chiller's economic life is not determined by its year of manufacture alone. With the right engineering, the right components and a controlled remanufacturing process, an existing chiller can become a reliable, efficient and sustainable cooling source again, without the burden of a high investment cost.
Özsayın brings its field and compressor experience dating back to 1982 to industrial chiller overhaul. We do not merely repair air- and water-cooled chiller units from Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin / McQuay, Climaveneta, Rhoss and other manufacturers; we assess overall system integrity and approach each unit with a remanufacturing mindset.
Replacing a single part is not an overhaul. The Özsayın overhaul process covers the assessment of the chiller's critical components, from the compressor to the evaporator and from the condenser to the automation system, against engineering criteria. The aim is not merely to get the unit running again, but to rebuild its reliability, serviceability and economic life.
The unit's current condition, operating history, capacity, refrigerant and critical components are examined.
The compressor, heat exchangers, condenser, evaporator, fans, pumps, and electrical and control components are inspected.
For suitable compressors, disassembly, measurement, mechanical inspection and any necessary component replacements are carried out.
Cleaning, leak testing and any necessary mechanical work are performed on the evaporator and condenser side.
Sensors, contactors, drives, control elements and safety circuits are checked; components that need it are renewed.
Filters, oil, valves and related consumable components are evaluated. The system is put through vacuum, pressure and leak tests.
Before the unit is delivered, its operating values are checked and its suitability for the operating conditions is verified.
On request, on-site installation, commissioning and technical support are carried out by the Özsayın engineering team.
Replacing every faulty or aging chiller with a new one is not always the right economic decision. Particularly for high-capacity industrial chillers with a sound frame, heat exchangers and mechanical infrastructure, an overhaul can be a strong alternative to investing in a new unit.
Reusing existing equipment can significantly reduce initial investment cost compared with a new chiller.
Instead of new-unit manufacturing and delivery times that can take months, existing equipment can be returned to operation in a much shorter time.
A proper overhaul can allow the main mechanical structure, if it is still economically viable, to be put to use for many more years.
During the overhaul, the system's critical components and future spare parts needs are also evaluated to build a maintenance strategy.
Reusing tons of metal, copper and industrial components reduces the raw material and energy demand of manufacturing new equipment.
Not every unit is suitable for overhaul, and we do not recommend overhauling every unit. The Özsayın engineering team first answers this question: "Does it make technical and economic sense to overhaul this machine?" Following the assessment, one of three options is recommended. Because our goal is not to sell overhauls, but to make the technically and economically right decision for your operation.
If the main mechanical structure is sound and the investment makes economic sense.
If renewing the compressor, the control system or certain components is sufficient.
If a new or remanufactured chiller is the better solution in terms of overhaul cost, energy consumption or reliability.
Send us the brand, model, capacity and photos of your faulty, idle or soon-to-be-replaced chiller. Let the Özsayın engineering team assess your unit technically and determine which is the better option: Overhaul / Modernization / Replacement.
